COLUMBIA, MD
Sitting in the heart of one of the wealthiest counties in America, this ministry reaches out to teenagers in the Name of Christ. NavYouth Columbia is a place where high school students can come together to study the Bible and discuss how faith interacts with real life- whether these teens have grown up in Christian families or never even set foot in a church. From large group teaching to small group discussion, students are not just told what to believe but are challenged to wrestle with the why’s and how’s of a life-transforming relationship with Jesus. By offering retreats, a student leadership team, and mission trips, NavYouth Columbia seeks to provide high schoolers with many opportunities to take risks of faith. At the same time, adult leaders strive to take these risks of faith alongside our students. But the core of this ministry involves mobilizing one-on-one discipleship relationships. These relationships allow unique and personalized disciple-making to take place. This ministry is not just another youth group; NavYouth Columbia disciples teenagers. COLORADO SPRINGS, CO
This high school based ministry desires to help students to understand God's heart for them, God's heart for others, and to develop their hearts for both. NavYouth Colorado Springs reaches out to a local high school through monthly large group meetings, bi-weekly Bible studies, and weekly one-on-one discipleship. Leaders meet individually with students in order to help them with their walks with Christ and to encourage them to reach out to their peers. There are also bi-weekly group times with adult volunteers and student leaders intended to foster community, plan activities together, and go deeper in the Bible. The ministry’s main focus is these smaller groups and one-on-one times, but the occasional large group meetings and yearly Winter Retreat at Eagle Lake Camp tie this focus together. With more than ten years of youth ministry experience, the leaders are still open to continually seeking God on how to minister to students in the most effective way. YAOUNDÉ, CAMEROON
Since 2005, we have been investing in Cameroon as we lay the foundations for a life-giving, disciple-forming, reproducible ministry among the youth of this country (ages 15-21). In the past, we had kept our focus on the capital City of Yaoundé, but for over one year now, NavYouth has expanded. Some university students with The Navigators as well as a pastor have begun reaching out to high school students in the North West (Anglophone) province. For this we rejoice greatly. God has given us a few faithful adult volunteers who have followed us in this work from the beginning. He has also given us key young students in whose lives NavYouth has had a significant impact. We trust and pray that God will complete His work in them and that they too will be burdened with a heart for God and for the lost.
